The Low Carbon Coast project is a new economic model characterized by four key words:
- Local development: transport by sea at least part of what is consumed or produced locally, to reduce the number of trucks on the roads.
- Low carbon freight: on land, this will correspond to short circuits made by electric vehicles, at sea, to coasters using the maximum renewable energies (wind, swell) and other forms of hybridization.
- Local cabotage: all ports are concerned.
- Coaster shops: outlets comparable to the producers’ shops and able to provide information and propose exhibitions on the project.
